Quiet, open-air patio is a great place to spend a leisurely lunch overlooking the adjacent park. Service was normal, food was above average. I had the grilled chicken caprese and liked it though it wasn't as flavorful as I had hoped, my fiancee had the blacked tilapia sandwich and it was better. The sandwiches some with a side of fruit salad - fresh tasting cantaloupe, pineapple, honeydew - or potato chips. I'm a fan of the flavored Iced tea as well. Overall, the atmosphere is what would compel me to recommend this place, but the food was good as well, if not a little on the pricey side. I hadn't heard of it before last Sunday but I think it deserves a try.

Located inside and behind the gift shop at the Arkansas Art Center, this cafe is literally tucked away and easy to miss. It boasts a panoramic view of the grounds, which can be quite an eyeful during the Spring and Autumn months, as the blooms burst and trees change. The cuisine is fair to good. It's certainly not cafeteria dining by any means, but it slightly misses the mark with some of its selections. The warm rosemary bread and pepper-sprinkled olive oil was very good. We tried a cup of clam chowder, which was the soup of the day. Being that I'm originally from New England, my clam chowder expectations are usually too high to bother ordering it elsewhere. However, it was chilly out and the soup seemed absolutely necessary to warm my chilly innards. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. The blackened tilapia ciabatta veered towards the greasy end of the spectrum. The chicken salad kaiser was fine; the grapes and almonds added good flavor and texture. If you're already visiting the museum, it's certainly worth enjoying a lunch at Best Impressions. Otherwise, I'd say it's on par with other area eateries.

We ate lunch here after visiting a special exhibition. It was mildly busy, but not full. We had a table with a lovely view of the park. Our service was slow, though our waiter apologized, and I found the inside seating pretty loud. I ordered the macaroni and cheese with focaccia bread. It was a generous portion and tasted good, but the cheese was very soupy. The bread was a small piece of brown, dry toast, and not very flavorful. My husband had the cheese burger, which I sampled. It was one of the best burgers I've ever tasted! The server told us they mix pesto and tomato paste into the beef, and it was delicious! If you try this restaurant, allow PLENTY of time and have the cheese burger!

I only found out about this restaurant thanks to their Living Social deal a month ago. Unless you frequent the Arkansas Arts Center and then wander into the gift shop, or read Yelp reviews, you'd never know it existed. My husband and I finally went there to try it out today - here's the scoop: PROS: Clean, comfortable, and visually appealing environment; friendly and attentive wait staff; quick service (although we were one of three tables in the otherwise empty dining room); fresh food. CONS: 1) Brunch is served on Sundays only - we came on a Saturday expecting Eggs Benedict and the like, but had to settle for lunch fare (turns out one of the other couples dining at the same time as us, and using a Living Social voucher, came expecting brunch as well. sad day). 2) Pricey food - my husband's Spinach Salad was $9, plus another $4 for a little added Salmon - at that price for lunch I would expect the food to be organic, but it was not. 3) The OJ is not really orange juice - it's more like watered-down orange drink (think really gross Sunny D); if you're going to offer orange juice at $3 a glass, at least try for Tropicana or something mildly reminiscent of oranges. 4) My Chicken Salad Croissant ($8) was heavy on the mayo and raw red onions - not a welcomed surprise for this pregnant gal who has a hard time even tolerating cooked onions. At least the croissant was moist and the chicken wasn't canned. I'd like to give Best Impressions another try during brunch on Sunday, but probably won't unless I get another Living Social or Groupon - the prices are just too inflated and the OJ just too fake.
